Now you may be asking yourself, why are we discussing nutrition on our fitness site? Well, make no mistake that what you consume is without a doubt, directly connected to your fitness goals. Why is that you may ask? Well, that’s exactly what I’m going to break down here and now.
When building muscle you go to the gym and “weight train” - However it’s crucial to understand that weight training tears it down and that it’s the nutrition and recovery that’s doing the actual building of that muscle! That said it’s imperative to properly feed those muscles before and after weight training to get the results you are looking for. It’s going to be different depending on whether your goal is to gain muscle, maintain muscle, preserve and protect muscle or leaning out to show off muscle for competition.- Your nutrition is literally your workout fuel. No matter if it’s weight training, cardio, functional, yoga or Pilates. Your nutrition feeds every activity you do. To be your best it’s crucial to make nutritional food choices.
- When you start thinking “Food For Fuel” it helps right! Just like you always put the correct gasoline in your car. Fuel yourself in the best way and you’ll get the best results!
- For example, feed those muscles some highly nutritious clean choice protein and carbohydrates before and after those workouts. For example.... egg whites with spinach and sweet potatoes. Your body will thank you!
