You know it takes patience and persistence to reach our fitness goals. It’s very important for all of us to check in with ourselves to see just how truly consistent everything is going. It’s too easy to push off workouts, nutrition and your wellness routine with good intentions for that “I’ll start on Monday”.

Reach Your Fitness Goals:

I have some questions for all of you to ask yourself so you can honestly and wholeheartedly get on track.

  1. How may days per week are you weight training? Doing cardio sessions? Doing functional workouts?
  2. How long are those workouts?
  3. How intense are those workouts?
  4. How correct is your form with those workouts?
  5. Are you getting your minimum 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night?
  6. How is your nutrition? Are you paying attention to what you’re eating before and after you work out?
  7. Are you warming up before your workouts?
  8. Are you cooling down and stretching out after your workouts?

You see if you want serious results you have got to real with yourself about what’s working and what’s not working.

I’m going to honest, as always, if you’re finding yourself justifying missing workouts, being overly processed with your nutrition and not taking care of your wellness you can only expect so much in return.

Do yourself a favor and prioritize YOU! Why? I’m telling you now the only way you can be your best to anyone else you must be your best self first!

How Nutrition Affects Fitness

Now you may be asking yourself, why are we discussing nutrition on our fitness site? Well, make no mistake that what you consume is without a doubt, directly connected to your fitness goals. Why is that you may ask? Well, that’s exactly what I’m going to break down here and now.

  • NutrtitionWhen building muscle you go to the gym and “weight train” - However it’s crucial to understand that weight training tears it down and that it’s the nutrition and recovery that’s doing the actual building of that muscle! That said it’s imperative to properly feed those muscles before and after weight training to get the results you are looking for. It’s going to be different depending on whether your goal is to gain muscle, maintain muscle, preserve and protect muscle or leaning out to show off muscle for competition.
  • Your nutrition is literally your workout fuel. No matter if it’s weight training, cardio, functional, yoga or Pilates. Your nutrition feeds every activity you do. To be your best it’s crucial to make nutritional food choices. 
  • When you start thinking “Food For Fuel” it helps right! Just like you always put the correct gasoline in your car. Fuel yourself in the best way and you’ll get the best results!
  • For example, feed those muscles some highly nutritious clean choice protein and carbohydrates before and after those workouts. For example.... egg whites with spinach and sweet potatoes. Your body will thank you!

YES, let’s try on nutrition here !!!! I know nutrition isn’t new , however it’s not easy to find nowadays in this pre-wrapped, drive thru, fakery bakery, fast food world we now live in.Let’s be honest here , when was the last time you read and understood every ingredient on the label of everything you ate in a day? Now for those of you who are very meticulous I applaud you! Keep in mind the ever changing science and the ever changing label regulations that allow food manufacturers to ” hide ” ingredients you may be trying to avoid. Staying informed is a daily challenge.

Seriously, it can feel like a full time job keeping up with all this nutritional information out there! I know, I know it’s enough to make us crazy , “hangry” and food frustrated! That said, its no easy task! Especially in a world where we want what we want when we want it and patience is hard to come by .I get it , with fast food joints and convenience markets on every flipping corner. It’s just way too easy to make the least nutritious choices day after day.
